Texas style from the North - Ricky Carl delivers a country sound with plenty of influence. Taking inspiration from traditional country artists up to modern rock groups, Ricky Carl’s music reflects an appreciation for the classics with a modern sound.
Ricky has generated a following playing in bars around the Northland. He has opened for names like The Bellamy Brothers, Mark Wills, The Frontmen, Gabby Barret, and Big & Rich.
He was named the Duluth News Tribune’s 2nd place “Local Band” of the year in 2023 and 2nd place “Best Artist” in 2024. He repeated the success in 2025, taking 2nd place for “Best Artist” and “Best Local Band” again.
His debut EP, released in 2024, reveals the rock influence in “Where The Good Times Are” with heavy-driven guitars and over-the-top drums. His country-rooted influence is showcased prominently in the calm “Take It From There” and the lively “So Long (Have A Good Summer).” The EP was followed by the release of his full album “Where The Good Times Are” in July 2025 featuring 5 previously unreleased songs.
